WAHU Mobility is a Ghanaian company creating an ecosystem for e-mobility solutions. WAHU provides universal access and “lease-to-own” financial services for locally manufactured e-bikes. These bikes are to be used primarily for gig economy jobs and fleet operators, replacing fossil fuel-powered vehicles. WAHU’s headquarters are in Accra, and its team includes experts in vehicle manufacturing, electrical and mechanical engineering, and software development and design. WAHU is dedicated to improving the way people move and has given itself a framework as a social enterprise.
Charged with Freedom
WAHU provides an easy means of transport and a comprehensive offer for its independent e-bike riders. This offers a viable path to vehicle ownership and a gateway to sustainable employment.
CarbonWise Consulting and WAHU Mobility have developed and implemented an Article 6.2 Mitigation Activity on Electric Bicycle Manufacturing and Distribution in Ghana which has reached authorization stage. Based on the bilateral agreement between Ghana and Switzerland, this program has been successfully processed in close collaboration of the program owner with the Swiss FOEN (Federal Office for the Environment) and Ghana CMO (Carbon Market Office). The ITMO buyer for this program is KliK Foundation, Switzerland.
Beyond its home market Ghana, WAHU has launched products and services in other African countries and will expand the fleet to further markets.
